Tenjō Sajiki, also Tenjou Sajiki ( 天井桟敷, Tenjō Sajiki ), was a Japanese independent theater troupe co-founded by Shūji Terayama and whose members include Kohei Ando, Kujō Kyōko, Yutaka Higashi, Tadanori Yokoo, and Fumiko Takagi. [1 ]
Shūji Terayama ( 寺山 修司, Terayama Shūji; December 10, 1935 – May 4, 1983) was a Japanese avant-garde poet, artist, dramatist, writer, film director, and photographer.
13. 5. 2024Originally made for the 100 Feet Film Festival hosted by Image Forum. However, to test the limits, Terayama Shūji willfully made use of 3 projectors to project 300 feet of film at the same time.
Oh man, this is huge!! As a big fan of Japanese New Wave, I am very excited about this upcoming program at the Museum of Modern Art. There are 70+ rarely seen films present with many guest speakers.
