Häppölä was a Member of the Parliament of Finland from 1951 to 1970, representing the Agrarian League, which renamed itself the Centre Party in 1965. [1 ]
The district was established as Häme Province South (Finnish: Hämeen läänin eteläinen vaalipiiri; Swedish: Tavastehus läns södra valkrets) [4 ] in 1907 when the Diet of Finland was replaced by the Parliament of Finland.
