The province of Asturias is a Spanish province, which since 1982 has formed the single-province autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias. [1 ] Between 1833 and 1983 it was called the province of Oviedo.
The constituency elects four senators. Its boundaries correspond to those of the Spanish province of Asturias. The electoral system uses open list partial block voting, with electors voting for individual candidates instead of parties.
As of January 2018, it has a population of 218,943 inhabitants. [2 ] The city lies in a natural harbour of the Mediterranean coastline of the southeast of the Iberian Peninsula.
