Mikael Harutyuni Harutyunyan (Armenian: Միքայել Հարությունի Հարությունյան; born 10 February 1946) is an Armenian general who served as the Defence Minister of Armenia from 4 April 2007 until 14 April 2008.
Harutyunyan was born in the Ottoman Empire, in the town of Van, but he and his family were forced to flee into Russian territory during the Armenian genocide.[ citation needed] They settled first in Tbilisi and then in Yerevan.
