James Patrick McEwan (September 24, 1952 – June 14, 2014) was an American slalom canoeist who competed in the 1970s and then again in the 1980s and early 1990s. He teamed up with his son Devin to compete in the 2000s.
McEwen started his playing career with Bootle, before moving south to join Luton Town. After one season, he then joined Glossop North End for their first season in the Football League.
He was born on February 7, 1855, in Albany, New York, the son of John McEwan and Agnes Gordon (Lauder) McEwan. He attended the public schools and Albany Free Academy.
